Robber Kills O.C. Store Clerk
A clerk at a Huntington Beach 99 Cent Only store was shot and killed Thursday during a robbery, authorities said.
Police did not release the name of the victim, pending notification of relatives.
The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at the store, in the 16600 block of Beach Boulevard, said Lt. Brian Tidrick, a spokesman for the Huntington Beach Police Department. The killer escaped on foot and was still being sought late Thursday. It was unclear whether any money had been taken.
“There were a whole bunch of witnesses out there, and we’re trying to determine what happened,” Tidrick said.
