Boy Of Summer a Perfect Investment So Far
Boy Of Summer, who hasn’t lost in four starts, heads a field of seven paints in the $25,350 Pioneer Derby tonight at 400 yards.
Owned by the Painted Pitchfork and trained by Samantha Valencia, Boy Of Summer, a 3-year-old gelded son of Meter Me Gone, hasn’t been higher than 2-1 in his three most recent wins, but those who liked him in his debut Oct. 17 did well. Ridden by Cody Jensen, the Colorado-bred beat $20,000 maidens that night by three-quarters of a length at 33-1.
The picks: 1. A Blurr. 2. Wall To Wall Flair. 3. Blushing Aces. 4. Drivers Seat. 5. Clearly Awesome. 6. He’s Gone. 7. Adios Amiga Mia. 8. Boy Of Summer. 9. Emmy Time. 10. Traffic Attraction.
Four! A Blurr in the first, Give Me An Effort, Heza Fast Streaker and Wall To Wall Flair in the second, Nora Gvl, Shell Ha and Blushing Aces in the third and Doinitforpleasure, Ambusher and Drivers Seat in the fourth.
