Moorpark: The city will offer the Third of July Fireworks Extravaganza from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Arroyo Vista Community Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road. Camarillo: The Pleasant Valley-Somis Lions Club Fireworks Spectacular will be held at Freedom Park in Camarillo. Gates open at 3 p.m. There will be food, raffles, jolly jumpers, live entertainment and other attractions from 4 to 8 p.m. The fireworks show begins at 9:10 p.m. The park is at Camarillo Airport off Pleasant Valley Road between Eubanks Street and Freedom Park Drive. Fillmore: The annual Star-Spangled Car Show & Festival will highlight more than 300 street cars, classic models, hot rods and trucks at Central Park and along Central Avenue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also on tap will be arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, a horseshoe tournament, vintage train rides and children’s activities.

Oxnard: Channel Islands Harbor will offer festivities beginning at 11 a.m. with a children’s parade, followed by live entertainment, arts and crafts, food, a farmers market and harbor tours, until 5:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Free. (805) 985-4852.

Ojai: The Ojai Independence Day Committee will host a barbecue dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. ($5 to $8), followed by a free concert with the Ojai Band and Joe Boccali & the Ojai Valley Boys. Libbey Park, Signal and Montgomery streets. (805) 646-4295.

Santa Paula: The city will offer a pancake breakfast at the train depot, 10th and Santa Barbara streets, from 8 to 10 a.m. $3.

At 9:30 a.m., a ceremony near the depot will commemorate the 125th anniversary of the planting of a Moreton Bay fig tree on July 4, 1879. The ceremony will include a color guard, patriotic songs, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and a talk about the tree’s significance to the community.

A pyrotechnics show will take place at 9 p.m. at Harding Park, East Harvard Boulevard and South 13th Street. Free. (805) 525-4478.

Simi Valley: The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library’s annual holiday affair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. includes entertainment, Civil War encampment, games, presidential look-alikes, face painting, storytelling, food and a concert by the Los Angeles Police Department Concert Band. Ventura: The city’s annual street fair will be preceded by the Pushem-Pullem Parade at 10:30 a.m., held along downtown’s Main Street. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. at Cemetery Park, Crimea and Main streets. Street fair activities are held along Main Street, from Fir Street to Ventura Avenue, and include entertainment on six stages, food, classic cars, kids’ activities and about 300 artisan booths. Ventura College and Rotary Club of Ventura will again host the Family Festival & Fireworks Celebration at the college’s athletic field, 4667 Telegraph Road. Games, contests, food and strolling entertainers will be offered. Festival-goers can picnic during a four-hour variety show titled “The Music of America” featuring the Ellsworth Barranca Band, the Angela Skeels Band, Tom Corbett Blue Grass Band and others. Ojai: The Ojai Independence Day Committee will hold several activities. Registration begins at 9 a.m. for one-mile and half-mile Youth Freedom runs at Libbey Park. A parade from Country Club Drive to Park Road starts at 10 a.m. Picnic in the Park with food, contests and entertainment begins at 11:30 a.m. at Sarzotti Park, 510 Park Road.

The Nordhoff High School Jazz Band performs its “American Salute Concert” at Libbey Bowl, Signal and Montgomery streets. 5-7 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. Free. (805) 646-2094.
