Four state parole agents were fired Tuesday after a yearlong investigation into their jobs moonlighting as security guards for rapper Snoop Dogg.

The California Department of Corrections began an internal probe last summer when three of the officers were found to be part of the hip-hop performer’s armed entourage at the Black Entertainment Television Awards in Hollywood.

Police stopped the caravan after glimpsing heavily armed bodyguards in the car carrying Snoop Dogg.

Officers who searched the convoy found a cache of weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, police said.

The investigation found that a fourth parole agent was working for Snoop Dogg while on a disability leave from the state, said spokeswoman Terry Thornton.

Officials would not identify the terminated officers nor specify why each was fired. “We expect them to appeal our decision,” Thornton said.

Last year, eight reserve officers with the Inglewood Unified School District were fired for various reasons after they were found to be moonlighting as security officers for Snoop Dogg. Two had been part of the entourage at the Black Entertainment Television Awards show.

In an earlier incident, an Inglewood school officer was wounded by gunfire while escorting the rapper.
