Voters May Get a Say on Cross in County Seal
County Supervisors Don Knabe and Mike Antonovich introduced a motion Tuesday to let voters decide in November whether to keep a small cross in the county’s official seal.
The proposal has little chance of winning the four votes needed for passage, however. Three of the five supervisors have repeatedly voted to remove the cross to avoid a lawsuit over its constitutionality. But thousands of residents have urged the board to keep the religious symbol.
