Driver Allegedly Ingesting Drugs Is Arrested After Hourlong Chase
Two motorcycle officers were slightly hurt and an Anaheim woman driving a car was injured and arrested Tuesday after an hourlong chase that clipped sidewalks and crossed the parking lot of Costa Mesa City Hall.
Michelle White, 37, was booked on suspicion of felony evading arrest, being under the influence and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer after a chase that began in Santa Ana and ended near the Orange County Fair.
“She was observed smoking from a glass dope pipe while driving,” Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Zack Hoferitza said of White.
Officers eventually deployed spike strips to puncture White’s tires. After catching up with her and getting off their motorcycles, the officers were injured when she tried to back into them, he said.
White suffered cuts when she was pulled her from her car. She was treated, then jailed.
