Wounded CHP Officer Released From Hospital

A California Highway Patrol officer who shot a motorist who allegedly beat him during a traffic stop has been released from the hospital, and deputies have recommended charges for his alleged assailant.
Sheriff’s detectives arrested Christopher Choe, 22, on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and misdemeanor battery of an officer, said CHP spokesman Jason Butler. Choe had surgery Sunday and is expected to recover.
