The Los Angeles County coroner’s office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman found dead Feb. 21 in the parking lot of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center near Torrance. The woman, described as a 20- to 30-year-old Latina, had been shot once in the abdomen, apparently in a homicide, officials said.

The woman had a tattoo of praying hands and the words “In loving memory of Hugo Garcia” on the upper left side of her back. On the small of the back she had a tattoo of a red rose on a bed of thorns. The woman’s eyebrows also were tattooed, the coroner’s office said. The victim was described as 5 feet tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her left ear had three piercings, and the right ear had two.

Anyone with information is asked to call the coroner’s office at (323) 343-0754 or (323) 343-0714.
