Gasoline Prices Edge Higher in California

California’s average pump price edged higher by three-tenths of a penny, reaching $2.112 for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline, according to a weekly Energy Department survey.
The gas price average has climbed 51.7 cents a gallon during the last 10 weeks, nearing the state record of $2.145 a gallon set nearly a year ago as measured by the Energy Information Administration, the Energy Department’s statistical arm. The price surge has been blamed on refinery glitches and high crude oil prices.
The average price in Los Angeles dipped four-tenths of a cent in the last week to $2.175 a gallon. Nationwide, the average gas price rose 2.1 cents to $1.738 a gallon.
