Woman Dies on Visit to Husband in Prison
A 40-year-old visitor to the state prison in Lancaster died Saturday after collapsing in a visiting room, a prison spokesman said.
Vernicia Harris of Pasadena was visiting her husband, an inmate, when she collapsed about 11 a.m., prison Lt. Ken Lewis said.

Name of deceased -- A brief article in Tuesday’s California section gave an incorrect name for a woman who died Saturday while visiting an inmate at the state prison in Lancaster. The woman’s name was Vernicia Harrison, not Vernicia Harris.
Harris was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The cause of death is under investigation.
