Trainer Jones Will Have Six Chances to Click

Trainer Paul Jones will be well-represented in the two 2-year-old races tonight.

In the fifth, a race for maiden fillies at 300 yards, the leading trainer will send out Fishers Cutbait, Corona Carina and Sum Chicks Fly.

His entrants in the ninth, also for maidens at 300 yards, are Hostile Method, First Down Runner and Corona Magnifico.

A California-bred owned by a partnership that includes Vessels Stallion Farm, Fishers Cutbait is a daughter of Fishers Dash out of the brilliant thoroughbred mare Soviet Problem, who was a multiple stakes winner.

In the seventh, a $6,300 allowance for Arabians at 4 1/2 furlongs, Vialyn will aim for her third win in four starts for owner Richard Kiekow and trainer Billy Lewis against seven opponents.

Four! Gold Bunch and Joan in the sixth, Vialyn in the seventh and Marotta, Agusta Effort and My Eye On Tommy in the eighth and Hombre Salbaje, Internist, Anjoras Armor Bug V in the ninth.

Shots in the dark: Lay Lady Lay is back in with maidens in the second. Take Down Chick could improve with a race under her belt in the fifth.
