From Times Wire Reports

More than 90,000 ballots were expected to be sent out Monday to west Contra Costa County residents for a vote in June on a measure to raise $8 million annually to help funds local schools.

In the past, mail elections were limited to jurisdictions with fewer than 1,000 voters or for certain assessments, such as the Oakland hills fire district approved in January.

County Registrar of Voters Steve Weir said he is worried that problems could arise, even though more voters are choosing to cast ballots by mail as absentee voters in regular elections.
