Oxnard Man Held in Fatal Shooting
A 33-year-old Oxnard man is to be arraigned today in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend’s companion.
Antonio Conde is accused of shooting Victor Lopez, 32, in the head as Lopez and the woman were driving in the 1200 block of South J Street about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Oxnard police declined to identify the woman.
Conde was arrested without incident several hours later at his home in the 600 block of West Robert Avenue.
Lopez was kept on life support until shortly after midnight Sunday, police said.
The slaying was the seventh in Oxnard and the 17th in Ventura County this year, officials said.
