Vegas goes L.A., L.A. goes there

Looks like Vegas is getting just a wee bit cooler. Hollywood club king Brent Bolthouse is opening the doors to his new spot Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas over Memorial Day. And two weeks later, he’s chartering a private jet and taking a load of scenesters with him. The occasion? Body English is hosting its official grand opening bash with Maxim for its 5th Annual Hot 100 event.... Bumped into my favorite rock ‘n’ roll tag team, Motochrist guitarist Ricky Vodka and Masons/Killdevils guitarist Eden Fonzarelli. The men in black work the turntables at the Burgundy Room in Hollywood each Monday, and we hear Vodka’s got a big to-do at the King King on May 30. It’s Hollywood’s inaugural ball for Extreme Elvis, a psychotic Elvis impersonator (think G.G. Allin in rhinestones), who plans to perform Black Sabbath’s debut album in its entirety while backed by a 35-piece marching band. I ain’t lyin’. And Fonzarelli’s Johnny Thunders tribute band makes an appearance May 31 at the Roxy.... And we hear Jamie-Lynn DiScala added a little bada bing in her schwing at Xes on Saturday night. DiScala, who celebrated her birthday at the Hollywood club, did a bit of pole dancing. In the house were Lance Bass, Jessica Simpson and her cute sis Ashley.

Lei’d-back beat

Sublime lovers won’t want to miss Pepper at the House of Blues tomorrow night. Originally from Kona, Hawaii, the Sublime-influenced band joins Slightly Stoopid and Bargain Music for a night of reggae-punk.... And you don’t want to miss the chance to get beamed into outer-freaky-space with the Phenomenauts, a rockabilly band made up of spacemen with instruments. The NorCal group hits Zen Sushi in Silver Lake tonight.... If you missed Saturday’s Sadie Hawkins/White Trash theme party at the Ivar’s Funkn Groovn club, don’t bust your knickers. They’re plotting another one for June.
