Rapids Add to Unbeaten Home Streak

Jean Philippe Peguero had a goal and an assist to help the Colorado Rapids beat D.C. United, 2-1, in a Major League Soccer game Saturday night and extend their home unbeaten streak to a record 16 games.

Zizi Roberts also scored for Colorado (2-1-4), which hasn’t lost at home since a 2-0 setback to New York/New Jersey on May 17, 2003.

Joshua Gros scored for D.C. United (2-4-3) on an assist by Freddy Adu, the first of his career.

Adu, 14, created a buzz in Denver, where a single-game record 31,443 people showed up at Invesco Field.

Kansas City 2, Dallas 0 -- Tony Meola posted a league-record 52nd shutout, and Jack Jewsbury and Josh Wolff scored to lift the host Wizards (3-2-2). Dallas is 2-3-2.

New York/New Jersey 1, New England 1 -- Patrick Noonan scored for the Revolution (1-3-3) and Cornell Glen tied it for the MetroStars (2-1-4) at Foxboro, Mass.
