Panel Recommends Deaton for DWP Post

A City Council panel unanimously recommended Tuesday that Ron Deaton, the council’s top advisor, be confirmed as general manager of the Department of Water and Power, after Deaton said he was “100% committed” to expanding renewable energy and tackling problems that include poor handling of contracts.
“I do have confidence that with your vast knowledge and experience you will be able to meet that challenge and responsibility,” said Councilman Tony Cardenas.
