Tennessee State (0-3) vs. Cal State Northridge (0-2) at Las Vegas Holiday Invitational, 2:30 p.m. -- Northridge’s two losses were to teams from power conferences, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. Freshman forward Calvin Chitwood has been impressive, leading the Matadors in scoring in both games. Chitwood has made 14 of his 16 field-goal tries. Tennessee State has losses to Western Kentucky in overtime, Vanderbilt and Southern Illinois. The Tigers went 7-21 last season and lost in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

WOMEN

No. 6 Notre Dame (5-0) vs. USC (1-1), Sports Arena, 7, KMPC (1540) -- The Irish are off to a fast start, winning the preseason WNIT. That included victories over two other ranked teams, Duke and Ohio State. Senior forward Jacqueline Batteast is the leading scorer (20.0). USC has had a week off since losing to DePaul. Senior forward Rachel Woodward and freshman guard Camille LeNoir are averaging 10 points a game.
