Team Creates Genetic Map of Hereford Cow

Baylor College scientists have created a genetic map of a Hereford cow, identifying each of the 3 billion pairs of genes that serve as its blueprint, the Agriculture Department announced. The Houston scientists believe that understanding the genes’ function will enable the breeding of disease-resistant cattle.
