‘Pale Bandit’ Sentenced to 445 Years in Prison

A man known to the FBI as the “Pale Bandit” was sentenced Monday to 445 years in state prison for robbing 16 banks. Paul Hassler, 42, had three prior convictions for burglary.
Hassler allegedly wore heavy pancake makeup, a wig and sunglasses during the holdups. Superior Court Judge William Mudd ordered Hassler to pay $103,719 in restitution.
