Military Deaths

The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Dominic C. Brown, 19, of Austin, Texas; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Brown was killed Monday in a noncombat-related incident in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Tyler H. Brown, 26, of Atlanta; first lieutenant, Army. Brown was killed Tuesday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Ramadi. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, at Camp Hovey in Tongduchon City, Korea.

David A. Cedergren, 25, of South St. Paul, Minn.; petty officer third class, Navy. Cedergren was killed Sept. 11 in a noncombat-related incident near Iskandariya. He was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic.

Lauro G. DeLeon Jr., 20, of Floresville, Texas; specialist, Army Reserve. DeLeon was killed Sept. 8 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy in Balad. He was assigned to the 644th Transportation Company, Army Reserve in Beaumont, Texas.

Jacob H. Demand, 29, of Palouse, Wash.; sergeant, Army. Demand was killed Tuesday when his patrol was attacked with small-arms fire in Mosul. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Christopher S. Ebert, 21, of Mooresboro, N.C.; corporal, Marine Corps. Ebert died Friday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Michael J. Halal, 22, of Glendale, Ariz.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Halal was one of two Marines killed Monday in a noncombat-related vehicle accident in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Benjamin W. Isenberg, 27, of Sheridan, Ore.; specialist, Army National Guard. Isenberg was one of two soldiers killed Monday when their vehicle was attacked with small-arms fire and an improvised explosive device in Taji. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry, Army National Guard in Corvallis, Ore.

Cesar F. Machado-Olmos, 20, of Spanish Fork, Utah; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Machado-Olmos was one of two Marines killed Monday in a noncombat-related vehicle accident in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Michael A. Martinez, 29, of Juan Diaz, Puerto Rico; specialist, Army. Martinez was killed Sept. 8 when his vehicle rolled over in Baqubah. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery in Bamberg, Germany.

Jaygee Meluat, 24, of Tamuning, Guam; corporal, Marine Corps. Meluat was killed Monday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Jason T. Poindexter, 20, of San Angelo, Texas; private first class, Marine Corps. Poindexter was killed Sept. 12 in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Mathew D. Puckett, 19, of Mason, Texas; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Puckett was killed Monday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Steven A. Rintamaki, 21, of Lynnwood, Wash.; corporal, Marine Corps. Rintamaki was killed Thursday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Kevin M. Shea, 38, of Washington, D.C.; major, Marine Corps. Shea was killed Tuesday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Adrian V. Soltau, 21, of Milwaukee; corporal, Marine Corps. Soltau was killed Monday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

Jason L. Sparks, 19, of Monroeville, Ohio; private first class, Army. Sparks was killed Sept. 8 in enemy action in Fallouja. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment at Camp Casey, Korea.

Andrew K. Stern, 24, of Germantown, Tenn.; first lieutenant, Marine Corps. Stern was killed Thursday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Carl Thomas, 29, of Phoenix; sergeant, Army. Thomas was one of two soldiers killed Monday when an improvised explosive device detonated near their observation post in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Drew M. Uhles, 20, of DuQuoin, Ill.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Uhles was killed Wednesday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Weisenburg was one of two soldiers killed Monday when their vehicle was attacked with small-arms fire and an improvised explosive device in Taji.
