* Jorge Torres, Montebello Schurr: Pitched a three-hitter, drove in two runs and scored another in an 8-1 Almont League victory over Montebello.

* Arturo Esqueda, Wilmington Banning: Hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 2-1 Marine League victory over Harbor City Narbonne.

* Eddie McKiernan, Monrovia: Pitched a three-hitter with 16 strikeouts and one walk in a 2-0 Rio Hondo League victory over San Marino.

SOFTBALL

* Kelly Cordeiro and Genna Allen, Thousand Oaks: Each drove in two runs to lead the Lancers to a 4-0 victory over West Orange (Fla.) Spruce Creek in the Kissimmee (Fla.) Klassic.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

* Trey Valbuena, Huntington Beach: Had six of his team-high 17 kills in the final game of a 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 15-25, 18-16 nonleague victory over Newport Harbor, which was led by Brett Perrine’s 31 kills and three aces. The victory gave Coach Rocky Ciarelli his 300th win.

* Cory Yoder, San Clemente: Had 24 kills in a 25-20, 23-25, 28-26, 25-20 South Coast League victory over Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley.
