Readers Question Leiweke’s Sincerity

Share

How nice of King President Tim Leiweke to assure fans that we have now become a priority and that they want a partnership in light of the NHL lockout.

Funny, where was that priority when the league decided to snatch the season out from under us or when they allowed the quality of the on-ice product to wither over the past few years?

Leiweke has obviously been too busy as of late, propping up soccer, tennis and cycling, to worry about his main concern, but he is in for a most rude awakening if he believes that King fans will break down the doors to watch replacement players.

How can Tim Leiweke say the NHL wants to form a partnership with the fans, when they propose to cheat us out of any kind of quality sporting entertainment?

The NHL already has an image problem, with not enough star players to promote the sport and expand its fan base.

And now the NHL thinks it will be able to replace some 600 players and put quality games on?

I don’t want to go to an NHL game and see a late-night adult-league game. Ten-year-olds work hard, but that doesn’t mean I want to pay to see them play.
