Area Councils to Get Notice on DWP Matters
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Department of Water and Power Commission agreed Tuesday to notify the city’s network of neighborhood councils of major policy and budget proposals, including increases in water and power rates.
The agreement calls for the councils to send representatives to an oversight panel that will be briefed on major initiatives by the DWP.
The goal is to avoid the kind of discord that occurred last year when the councils fought a water rate increase.
