The Astros will retire uniform No. 24 of three-time All-Star outfielder Jimmy Wynn, who spent 11 of his 15 major league seasons in Houston, during a ceremony July 8 before a game against the Dodgers. Wynn, nicknamed the “Toy Cannon” for his power despite his 5-foot-9 frame, played with first the Colt .45s and then the Astros from 1963 to ’73 in Houston before being traded to the Dodgers. He played for L.A. for two seasons and was named to the All-Star team both years. Here are some of Wynn’s biggest seasons:
