Share

McCann’s Mojave showed he could handle 1 1/8 miles in winning the $250,000 California Cup Classic on Nov. 6 at Santa Anita and he’ll get another crack at the distance in the $100,000 Native Diver Handicap today at Hollywood Park.

Owned by breeders Alix Nikki Hunt and Santa Anita publicity director Mike Willman, the 5-year-old Memo horse ended a three-race losing streak with a one-length win over favored Desert Boom in the Cal Cup Classic.

A winner of seven of 15 with earnings of $555,380, McCann’s Mojave will be seeking his second win in three tries at Hollywood Park in the Native Diver, a Grade III.
