More on a Heartwarming Bond
“Man’s Best Friend, and More” (by Chuck Gilkison, Nov. 6) is one of the most enjoyable articles I have read in a long time. I laughed until I had tears running down my face at Gilkison’s description of meeting his dog Sam for the first time at the airport and the subsequent trip home. Sam’s encounters with garden gnomes and inflatable snowmen didn’t prepare me for the serious turn this story took. The author’s struggle with multiple sclerosis and Sam’s role in helping him were heartwarming enough, but when the tables turned and it was Sam that needed help, well. . . . They truly have an incredible bond.
