A Horizon Air flight from Los Angeles International Airport was forced to make an emergency landing Tuesday after smoke was smelled in the cabin.

The plane was on its way to Arcata-Eureka Airport with 57 passengers and four crew members on board when it landed about 11:30 a.m. at Sacramento International, said Horizon Air spokeswoman Jen McSkimming.

The pilot “felt there was an oil line broken, so when the oil hit the engine, it evaporated into smoke” that was sucked into the cabin through its air vents, McSkimming said.

By the time the Dash-8 turboprop plane landed, there was no smoke in the cabin.

There were no reported injuries.
