Chick Won’t Endorse a Mayoral Candidate

After meeting with Mayor James K. Hahn’s four major challengers, City Controller Laura Chick said Tuesday that she would not endorse anyone in the March 8 election.
The controller, who publicly withdrew her endorsement from the mayor last year amid audits critical of his administration, said she would probably make an endorsement in the runoff election.
Chick also said she offered all the candidates her views on city issues and discussed specific city audits with them. But she declined to provide details.
