They’ve created a Cat

So dig this. The producers of the Discovery Channel’s “Monster House” are fans of the Cat Club’s Thursday night all-star jam -- the weekly Sunset Strip bash thrown by Slim Jim Phantom, Eric Dover, Ryan Roxie, Gilby Clarke and Dizzy Reed. (Guests stars have included Axl Rose, Billy Idol and the Cult’s Billy Duffy, who ventured in last Thursday.) Just this week, the Cat Club unveiled its makeover, courtesy of “Monster House,” which added loads of fiery paint and flame-shaped metal to establish the Cat Club as a proper rock ‘n’ roll sanctuary. The makeover will air as a “Monster” episode in March.... And speaking of makeovers, we hear the Joint’s owner, Steve Edelson, just gave the music venue a $300,000 remodel, which expanded its size.

Cabaret calls Constance

Got a call from Constance, the he-she superstar of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” video. The former hostess of Bar Marmont has reinvented her cabaret night Tuesdays at Monroe’s on Melrose Avenue.... This just in: Next Thursday, the Plush lounge at the Key Club debuts “Video Star,” a weekly club featuring an ‘80s cover band.... So talent booker Dayle Gloria is spreading the wealth. She’s now working with the Key Club, Viper Room and Cat Club.

Gabriel Baltierra, the co-founder of the annual motor-head fiesta known as the Blessing of the Cars, celebrated his birthday recently at El Cid in Silver Lake with pals dressing as Shriners and showgirls. Mauricio Figuls and John Godin DJ’d the gala. And hold the date: This year’s Blessing of the Cars is scheduled for July 30 at the Hansen Dam in Pacoima.

Once upon a good time

So the Bar co-owner Lauri Mulstay tells me there’s a show on the scene titled “Rich Whores: A Fairy Tale.” The one-act play, written by Bar regular Matt Boren, premiered this week at the National Comedy Theater. Hmmm. Wonder where he got his material?.... So Divebomb’s making noise. The new Wednesday night club at the Knitting Factory’s front bar has included DJs from members of the Circle Jerks, Fugazi, Dwarves and Turbonegro.... The Kings of Leon brought out some star power at their Roxy shows -- including Drea de Matteo, Courtney Love, Steve Howey (the WB’s “Reba”) and Duke Erikson (of Garbage).... More partying: Wilmer Valderrama’s 25th birthday Sunday night at his new Hollywood restaurant, Geisha House, attracted Elisha Cuthbert, Mandy Moore, Topher Grace, Jessica Biel, Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips, who were treated to a performance by the sexy dance troupe the Bombshells.

The 21st annual Brazilian Carnaval takes place this Sunday at the Palladium. Among the bands slated to play are world-music phenoms Badaue.... Everyone’s gabbing about tonight’s grand opening of Vine Street Lounge. You can celebrate the new kid on Hollywood’s block by going to the China Club Pro Jam on Monday and the Young Dubliners on Tuesday.
