Book of excuses

Re “In Wrongful Pursuit of Mr. Right,” by Meghan Daum [Dec. 19]: In their book, “He’s Just Not That Into You,” Greg Berendt and Liz Tuccillo have cleverly marketed their “ideas” about human nature, and that is all they have done. It’s just another book full of excuses and rationalizations in order to make women believe that all men are the same rotten individuals and we would all be better off without them.

There are many extenuating circumstances that could prevent a man from asking a woman out. Life is more important than what a bitter, jaded and, most important, single 41-year-old woman and a selfish mean-spirited coward and cad believe it to be.
