Five people will share a $50,000 reward for finding the bodies of Laci and Conner Peterson along the shore of the San Francisco Bay nearly two years ago.

The Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation will present the reward Friday at the Modesto Police Department. Officer Rick Applegate said he could not release the names of the people who would receive the reward but said five would share the money.

The bodies of Laci and her son Conner were found one day apart in April 2003, about four months after Laci Peterson, then pregnant, was reported missing.

She and the 8-month-old fetus she was carrying were discovered just miles away from where Scott Peterson said he went fishing alone on Dec. 24, 2002. He was convicted of the two murders in November, and the jury voted last month that he be sentenced to death. The judge will formally sentence him next month.
