Gift Completes Funding for Butterfly Habitat
From Times Wire Reports
Elwood Mesa activists have received a $307,000 donation that put them over a $20.4-million goal to save local seasonal monarch butterfly habitat.
Trust for Public Land officials said Monday that the check came from a donor who wanted to remain anonymous.
The trust will buy a 137-acre property from Comstock Homes and Development Partners, then give it to Goleta as a park.
