U2 to juggle its touring schedule

Share

U2 has postponed its world tour, which was expected to begin in Miami on March 1, Rolling Stone reported Thursday, citing a “family illness” in the band as the reason.

A spokeswoman for the band said she had no additional information, but U2’s manager Paul McGuinness posted a statement on the Irish band’s website Thursday saying, “We’ve postponed the announcement of the tour because the routing is still being worked on. As soon as we get everything confirmed over the coming weeks, we’ll let you know.”

Though no dates had been officially announced, the tour in support of the new album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb” was expected to encompass 115 dates in the U.S., Asia and Europe.

The band plans to perform as scheduled at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 13, where it is nominated for three awards, and to appear at its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame March 14 in New York, according to Rolling Stone.
