Pritzker Family Settles Suit Filed by 2 Heirs

The Pritzker family, whose holdings include the Hyatt hotel chain, has settled a lawsuit brought by two heirs who claimed that relatives looted their trust funds and unfairly cut them out of a plan to carve up the family fortune, the family’s lawyers announced.

Liesel Pritzker, 20, and Matthew Pritzker, 22, had sought about $2 billion in compensation for what they claimed had been taken from their trusts. Their lawyers did not disclose the terms of the settlement.

The settlement ends lawsuits that could have laid out in public the family’s plan to divide an estimated $15-billion empire.

Pritzker holdings include Hyatt Corp., casinos and credit-checking company TransUnion.
