UCLA, USC Record Wins

Lisa Willis scored a season-high 25 points and made four steals to lead No. 22-ranked UCLA over Washington State, 89-69, Friday in Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball at Pullman, Wash.

Willis made five three-point shots and grabbed six rebounds. Amanda Livingston added 11 points, and Lindsey Pluimer and Noelle Quinn had 10 each for the Bruins (10-3, 4-0).

Emma Joneby had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars (4-10, 0-5).

The Bruins, who shot a season-best 54.3%, led at halftime, 37-34. Willis made consecutive three-pointers shortly after the break to extend UCLA’s lead to 10 as the Bruins pulled away.

USC 62, Washington 52 -- Brynn Cameron scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Trojans (9-4, 3-1 Pac-10) at Seattle. USC used a 14-0 run midway through the second half to build a 45-38 lead.

Cameron fueled the run with two three-point shots, and Camille LeNoir added two field goals.

Breanne Watson scored 12 points for Washington (6-9, 2-3), which made only 31% of its field-goal attempts and only 11 of its 23 free throws. LeNoir finished with 17 points for USC, which was tied with the Huskies at halftime, 25-25.

No. 8 Stanford 68, Arizona State 57 -- Freshman guard Candice Wiggins had season highs of 31 points and six assists to lead the Cardinal (12-2, 4-1 Pac-10) at Tempe, Ariz. Wiggins, the 17-year-old daughter of the late San Diego Padre infielder Alan Wiggins, also matched her personal best with six steals, turning five into rally-killing layups.

Emily Westerberg had a career-high 22 points for the Sun Devils (10-4, 2-2), who had upset then-No. 11 Georgia and then-No. 8 Connecticut this season and had come in with a 10-game winning streak at home. Stanford did not trail after taking the lead late in the first half.
