UCLA, USC Get Sweeps

UCLA, ranked No. 22, took a 13-point second-half lead and then held off Washington, 74-63, Sunday at Seattle to stay unbeaten in Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball.

The Huskies pulled to within three points, at 63-60, with about four minutes left, but the Bruins (11-3, 5-0 Pac-10) countered with consecutive field goals to pull away. The duo of Noelle Quinn and Nikki Blue combined for eight of the Bruins’ 14 steals. Blue finished with 15 points.

Kristen O’Neill led the Huskies (6-10, 2-4) with 19 points.

USC 77, Washington State 75 -- The Trojans scored the first six points of overtime at Pullman, Wash., to help complete their first Pac-10 road sweep since the 2000-01 season. USC (10-4, 4-1) had four players in double figures, led by freshman Camille LeNoir’s 14 points.

Washington State (4-11, 0-6) came back from a 42-37 halftime deficit to build a 50-46 lead before the Trojans pulled even. LeNoir took the last shot of regulation, but it fell out to keep the score tied, 65-65.
