Actors, Studios to Resume Contract Talks

Share

Negotiators for actors and major entertainment companies will resume bargaining on a new contract Wednesday.

Although the current pact won’t expire until June 30, producers could slow shooting if the two sides remain at odds much longer because of the long lead time required to launch feature films.

Actors, represented by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, have been pressing to share more money from DVD sales and for higher payments when TV programs are reshown. Studios and networks are represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. The two sides had broken off talks last weekend.
