Boy Struck and Killed by Family Friend’s Car

A 23-month-old boy was killed Wednesday when he ran in front of a car being driven by a family friend, police said.
The toddler was pronounced dead at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana shortly after the 10:50 a.m. incident.
The child, his parents and a baby had been driven to their home in the 1000 block of Parton Street by a friend. As the family walked toward the apartment, the boy dashed in front of the car as the driver pulled away, police said.
The driver was not cited.
