SUVs not A-OK

Re “In Pursuit of Cold Comfort,” [Jan. 16]: I am weary of reading of the celebrities -- recently Blythe Danner, now Gretel Ehrlich -- who engage in passionate rhetoric to heighten awareness of global warming and other environmental needs, yet offer excuses for the SUVs they drive. I thought commitment to a cause involves personal sacrifice to draw attention to what is needed to further the cause.
