Man Eludes Police After Chase, Crash
From a Times Staff Writer
Police were searching for a man who stole a car from a convenience store parking lot Tuesday and led them on a chase in Garden Grove.
The man hopped into the Pontiac, parked with its engine running, at a 7-Eleven at Chapman Avenue and Haster Street about 3:30 a.m., police said.
He led police on a 100-mph chase before ramming two parked cars and flipping into an embankment near the Garden Grove Freeway at Haster. Police could not find the man.
