Supervisor Given Notice of Recall Petition Effort

Residents who want to oust county Supervisor Josie Gonzales presented her with their notice to circulate a recall petition Tuesday night at an advisory council meeting in Bloomington.

The notice accused Gonzales, a recently elected supervisor who represents San Bernardino and surrounding areas, of pushing redevelopment on unwilling residents and intimidating them.

Gonzales has seven days to respond after the county registrar of voters is notified. In a statement, she said, “I see this as a unique opportunity to better inform the community about the county’s efforts to help residents and business owners improve their lives.”
