Drug plan is just what the lobbyists ordered

Re “Drug Plan May Hurt Some It’s Meant to Help,” July 12

I was relieved to find, upon reading the article, that it was just some old lady who was being hurt. I had misinterpreted the headline.

I was afraid that it was the drug companies or the insurance industry that lobbied so hard to get the Medicare drug program passed that were being hurt. They were even able to trick the AARP into supporting it. That took a lot of fast talking and funny numbers.

It should be obvious to everyone now that the Medicare drug plan was meant to help the drug companies and insurance industry, not old vulnerable people incapable of doing the lobbying, partying and junket planning that gets things done with this government.
