Robber Probably Rode Bicycle Between Heists
A man suspected of committing two holdups in 30 minutes is believed to have used a mountain bike to travel between them, a sheriff’s spokesman said Monday.
“We have a witness,” spokesman Jim Amormino said of Saturday’s back-to-back crimes in Laguna Hills and Mission Viejo.
The first robbery occurred at 1:05 p.m. at a Walgreen’s at El Toro Road and Paseo de Valencia, he said, and the second took place at the Hunny’s restaurant on Alicia Parkway at Geronimo Avenue. In both instances, Amormino said, a man threatened employees with a handgun before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.
