A man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of a Lake Forest woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to attempted murder and assault of a police officer two weeks after a shootout in Colorado. His bail was set at $1.5 million, said a spokeswoman for the Weld County district attorney.

Nicholas Vovos, 22, was arrested July 3. His wife was found dead after the shootout in a car that belonged to Carolyn Dunn Avdeef, 62, last seen June 15.
