So, Fernando Botero is so upset by the damage to the United States’ “marvelous image” abroad that he was compelled to take his incendiary Abu Ghraib collection on a world tour [“Art That Accuses,” July 17].

Thanks for the help, Fernando. Next time, stay home in Paris. You’ll find more empathy for your point of view there anyway.

Odd that he wasn’t inspired to create imagined representations of Saddam’s rape rooms, mass graves and gas attacks. The thought of American-held captives forced to pose in a human pyramid was just too overwhelming.
