DEA Agent Shot Dead During Visit to Church
From Times Wire Reports
A U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent was killed in an apparent robbery attempt at a Roman Catholic shrine outside the Honduran capital, Honduran police and DEA officials said.
Special Agent Timothy Markey was visiting the shrine Friday when two assailants shot him twice, the officials said. Markey was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, a day before his 44th birthday.
Honduran authorities said Markey was in the country training police. Police said no arrests had been made in the shooting.
