Rodney on the Walk -- of Fame?

After months of harping about how rapidly Ryan Seacrest landed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his brief radio career, KROQ-FM’s Kevin and Bean held a fundraiser Friday to help procure a star for fellow DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.
Since 1976, Bingenheimer has become a legend in music circles, credited as the first major American DJ to play such acts as the Go-Go’s, No Doubt, Van Halen, Nirvana, Coldplay and the Sex Pistols.
During Friday’s two-hour on-air fundraiser, musicians such as Blondie’s Deborah Harry and X’s John Doe recounted stories about “Rodney on the ROQ,” and listeners chipped in to cover the $15,000 application fee for Bingenheimer’s star.
