Nov. 8 Election to Fill Assembly Seat Is Set

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday called a special general election for Nov. 8 to fill the 53rd Assembly District vacancy created by the death last week of Democrat Mike Gordon.
County Registrar-Recorder Conny B. McCormack has set a Sept. 13 primary election. The district extends from West Los Angeles to Torrance and inland to Lomita.
