A truck driver had his lower left leg severed Thursday when a concrete wall at a Brea recycling center collapsed on him, authorities said.
The unidentified man, 43, was trapped more than 90 minutes at the Brea Green Recycling Center on North Valencia Avenue before firefighters could pull him to safety, a Fire Department spokeswoman said.
The driver parked his rig about 7:45 a.m. and was walking to the rear of the trailer when a 4-foot concrete retaining wall holding back compost fell on him.
He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
