Hundreds Arrested in Protest Against King

Hundreds of people were arrested across Nepal as political parties launched their first major protest against King Gyanendra’s imposition of emergency rule last month.
In the capital, Katmandu, former officials were among those detained.
Many politicians have gone underground since the constitutional monarch dismissed the government and suspended civil liberties. Police had thwarted previous efforts to hold large rallies.
